About this activity
An oscillating inspection camera is synchronised using a circular timing disc, then compared with a second head. A separate free-oscillation calibration tests the squared-sine energy relation.
Before you start
Basic rearrangement, trigonometry and inverse trigonometry; Frequency, period and sinusoidal oscillations; Kinetic energy and total mechanical energy

Choose the correct pathway: Guided mathematical skills applied to an oscillating inspection camera head, its circular timing disc and a synchronised second head. Radians, calculator mode, signed sine/cosine models, graph construction, phase and multiple inverse-trig solutions. A separate free undamped calibration uses a supplied kinetic-energy fraction to distinguish sin squared from sine of a squared angle. Selected A-level circular-motion, SHM and energy applications; not complete topic coverage. Shared A-level pair only; no automatic AS/GCSE route or required-practical tag.
