A research laboratory uses a rotating centrifuge to test equipment. The test cabin moves at constant speed around a horizontal circular path of radius 6.8 m. The time for one complete revolution is 5.3 s. Calculate the speed of the test cabin.

After the centrifuge test, a sensor pod moves along a straight test rail at 0.85 m s^-1. The braking system provides a constant acceleration and the pod comes to rest after travelling 0.46 m. Calculate the magnitude of the acceleration of the pod.
